The US Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has reported that the Ukrainian Defence Forces have likely advanced on the occupied left bank of the Kherson region.
In particular, the Institute cites Russian "military commanders" who complain that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have landed on the left eastern bank and broken through Russian defences there.
Apparently, Ukrainian forces were able to advance north of Pishchanivka.
On the evening of 18 October, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces mentioned Pishchanivka in its report: "in the Kherson direction, the occupiers carried out air strikes near Novoberyslav, Kozatske, Olhivka, Prydniprovske and Pishchanivka in the Kherson Region". Thus, it can be concluded that the Ukrainian military did advance to Pishchanivka, on the left bank of the Kherson Region.
The Institute's analysts note that the Russian occupiers are concerned about the possibility of a larger Ukrainian operation in the Kherson Region. After all, in recent months, the occupiers have redeployed a large number of units to the Zaporizhzhya direction, weakening this flank.
