Ukraine needs 500 ATACMS missiles to destroy 150 military facilities of the occupiers in Crimea. Moreover, long-range ATACMS missiles should have been provided to Ukraine earlier. This was stated by Valeriy Chalyy, diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, Chairman of the Board of the Ukrainian Crisis Media Centre, on Hromadske Radio.
According to Valeriy Chalyy, in terms of political decision and the announcement by Washington of the supply of missiles to Ukraine, the timing is not bad.
"During the conversation between the leaders of Russia and China, Putin was obviously convincing his overlord that he was winning and "tearing apart" the whole of Ukraine. And then there was information that the United States would continue to support Ukraine. Plus, the US is in the midst of a pause in the work of the House of Representatives, so it was a good time to do this," the ambassador said.
Valeriy Chalyy believes that if Ukraine continues to receive Atacms missiles, it will "balance the situation between Ukraine and Russia".
"Because the Russians now have a lot of things, Putin said that they would use Kindzhals from the Black Sea, but we need 500 missiles, not 20. We have 150 military facilities in Crimea," the diplomat stressed.
