Vadym Huttsayt wants to resign as minister of youth and sports of Ukraine, LB.ua sources say.
A candidate for the post has already been interviewed. It is Anton Nikulin. He is the head of the sports department of the development department of the Lviv city council.
Huttsayt is scheduled to be dismissed at the next parliamentary plenary session. A new candidate for the head of the Ministry of Youth and Sports will be voted for at the same time.
Nikulin will run as a candidate from the Servant of the People party, his candidacy was put forward by the head of the Lviv Region Football Federation, Oleksandr Shevchenko. Sources link Nikulin to the sphere of influence of a prominent Lviv businessman, Hryhoriy Kozlovskyy, who owns the Emily Resort hotel.
In March 2023, Huttsayt, who is also the president of the National Olympic Committee, stepped down as president of the Ukrainian Fencing Federation.
The minister had held this position since 2017.
The position did not remain vacant for long - the day before, Mykhaylo Illyashev was elected as the new president of the UFF at a special conference.
