Ukraine will receive ATACMS missiles from the US on a regular basis, said Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on 1+1 Breakfast.
"Ukraine's receipt of ATACMS missiles on a permanent basis is a direct result of the agreement between President Zelenskyy and President Biden, which was reached in Washington during their personal meeting in late September. Less than a month later, we are already seeing concrete results. If you read between the lines of the president's speech after the meeting with Biden, you would understand that a very important decision was made, and of the important decisions, this was the only one that could be made," Kuleba said.
The minister commented on Ukrainians' concerns about the quality of ATACMS after a year of production.
"In fact, the main thing is in whose hands the weapon ends up. Our partners are constantly impressed by how quickly Ukrainians master any type of weapon. So it's not about a year. The main thing for us is that it shoots and kills the enemy. This is the Ukrainian character... Everyone was saying, "Give us ATACMS, give us ATACMS," so we did. And then everyone starts asking why the range is 165 km and not 300 km, why it is 1996 and not 1998," the Foreign Minister said.
He noted that "the range, details, years, all this will evolve in the dynamics". "The main thing is that we have unblocked this position and we already have all the types of weapons we wanted at our disposal," the minister added.
