An air raid alert sounded in occupied Sevastopol on Wednesday evening. Local media reported an explosion in the city centre.
According to Krym.Realii, the explosion occurred at 17:34, after which air raid sirens started to sound 2 minutes later. The media also reported that the explosion occurred near the village of Sakharna Golovka, where Russian military facilities are located.
Russia-installed Sevastopol governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said that the Russian fleet was repelling an attack by air targets near Sukharna Balka in the neighbouring Nakhimovsky district of the city.
"All services have been put on alert," Razvozhayev said.
Smoke was spotted over the area of the attack, and information about the damage to infrastructure is being checked.
In turn, the Russian Defence Ministry claimed that Crimea was attacked by two S-200 missiles. The ministry accused Ukraine of the attack. Ukrainian military and officials have not yet commented on the report.
