President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the capabilities of Ukraine's air defence system are increasing.

In his evening video address on 16 November, he noted the downing of drones that the Russians used to attack Ukraine last night.

The president said that "the geography of our cooperation for the sake of the air shield for Ukraine is very wide".

"Not everything can be said publicly now. But what is absolutely certain is that Ukraine is constantly becoming stronger. The capabilities of our air defence are increasing," Zelenskyy said.

He added that Kharkiv and regions such as Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya need more air defence systems. "This is the task for all our diplomats, our entire state," the president said.

On the night of 16 November, Russians attacked Ukraine from the southeast (Prymorsko-Akhtarsk) with 18 Shahed attack UAVs. The defence forces shot down 16 drones.
