On 16 November, a vehicle carrying Oleksandr Slisarenko, deputy head of the occupying administration in Kharkiv Region, was targeted in Belgorod, Russia. The injuries sustained in the explosion proved fatal for him. Sources indicate that he was neutralized by the Security Service of Ukraine.
Slisarenko had a history within Ukraine's internal affairs agencies. His involvement dates back to 2014, where he played an active role in the Kharkiv Anti-Maidan movement. In more recent years, from 2021 to 2022, he was engaged with pro-Russian factions in Luhansk Region, operating within the Rys special forces. Since the summer of 2022, he assumed the position of deputy head for internal policy in Kharkiv Region's occupying administration. He is known for his involvement in Russian atrocities in the occupied region.
"SBU officials formally notified Slisarenko of suspicion related to treason, yet he evaded appearing in court. In response, the court sought him out. Russian authorities have remained silent regarding Slisarenko's bombing," remarked the sources.
