A court has arrested the property of MP Oleksandr Dubinskyy, who is suspected of treason, as well as that of his mother and ex-wife, Suspilne has reported, referring to the resolution entered into the Unified Register of Court Decisions and published on 22 November.

It says that the decision to seize the property was made on 10 November. For security reasons, the register does not directly indicate the names of the defendants. The person in question is Oleksandr Dubinskyy because the court decision states that the defendant is the founder of the NGO League of Financial Development. According to Opendatabot, Dubinskyy is among the co-founders of this NGO. And he is the only one among the five owners who is a Member of Parliament of Ukraine.

The criminal proceedings to seize the property were initiated after a statement from the Anticorruption Action Centre. The AAC noted that Dubinskyy and his close relatives - his mother and wife - have come into posession of 24 apartments, 17 cars, two houses and 0.7 ha of land worth about $2.5 million over the past few years. They could not afford these assets given their official income.

The AAC statement says that the MP owns:

  • two apartments worth $100,000 in the penthouse of the 5-star Fairmont Grand Hotel in Podil, Kyiv,
  • six plots of land in the village of Khotiv in Kyiv Region, on two of which a mansion is built,
  • a land plot with a house in Solomyanskyy district of Kyiv,
  • an apartment in the elite residential complex "French Quarter" in the Pecherskyy district of Kyiv,
  • an apartment in the Teremky neighbourhood in Kyiv,
  • as of November 2019, he owned seven cars, including Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Volkswagen, Honda and Subaru.

His retired mother owns:

  • 19 properties with a total value of about $1 million,
  • two Mercedes-Benz cars,
  • two BMW cars,
  • Toyota Land Cruiser, Maserati Coupe Cambiocorsa and ZAZ Vida.

The MP's former wife, a marketing director, has:

  • seven apartments in Kyiv, most of which are near the MP's apartments.

Over the past few years, she has become the owner of real estate worth more than $300,000.

On the night of 14 November, the Pecherskyy district court of Kyiv closed session to choose a preventive measure against MP Oleksandr Dubinskyy. He was taken into custody for 60 days without bail. At the same time, Dubinskyy was allowed to use Youtube, Telegram, TikTok and Instagram. Prosecutors asked the court to restrict access to online networks, but the request was rejected.

Dubinskyy is suspected of high treason. The SBU and the DBR collected evidence of his information and subversive activities in favour of Russia. According to the investigation, he had the call sign Buratino and was a member of a criminal organisation formed by the Main Directorate of the Russian General Staff (GRU).
