President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has imposed sanctions on more than 300 companies and individuals from Russia and Ukraine. By his decrees, he put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defence Council of 23 November to impose economic sanctions against a number of Russians and Russian companies, Ekonomichna Pravda has reported quoting decrees No 772 and No 773 of 23 November.
According to Decree No 773, five-year sanctions were imposed on a number of Russian energy companies: Vologda Regional Power Company, Omskelektro, Rosseti Lenenergo, Far Eastern Energy Management Company - Generation Grids, Moscow Power Directorate, Salekhardenergo, LOESK Electric Networks of St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region, Volgogradoblelektro, Moscow Regional Power Grid Company, Rosseti Kuban and others.
As for the enterprises located in Ukraine, sanctions were imposed against the O.F. Zasyadko Mine in the territory of the separatist DPR, Soyuzenergoindustriya, Soyuzenergoproekt, etc.
Sanctions were also imposed for 10 years against 87 individuals, including both Ukrainian and Russian citizens.
Decree No 772 imposed 10-year sanctions on citizens of the Russian Federation, Cyprus, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Uzbekistan and Belarus.
The sanctioned companies include a number of companies from the UAE, Russia, Uzbekistan, Cyprus, Turkey, China, and Malta.
According to the two decrees, the sanctioned entities and individuals are subject to asset freezes, restrictions on trade operations, and prevention of capital outflow from Ukraine.
