There is a possibility that the evacuated Ukrainians will be deported to the most depressed regions of the Russian Federation.

The Russian occupying authorities have announced the "evacuation" of the population from Nova Kakhovka on the left bank of Kherson Region. They are likely to be sent to depressed regions of Russia, a member of the Kherson regional council, Serhiy Khlan, has said.

"Those who want to be taken to a 'safe territory' must register and gather near the hospital on 13 December. It is unknown where and under what conditions they will be taken," Khlan added.

He noted that after previous evacuations, people ended up in the most depressed areas of Russia.

Deportation of Ukrainians from occupied areas of Kherson Region:

· In October, the Centre for Countering Disinformation reported that the Russians would deport Ukrainians from Kherson Region under the guise of "evacuation".

· In November, information emerged that the Russians had begun deporting residents from six communities in Kherson Region.

· In Kherson Region, the forced deportation of children deprived of parental care to Moscow was recorded.

· On 17 November, as a result of a series of successful operations, the Defence Forces gained a foothold in several areas on the left bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson Region and continue to hold their positions.
