President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he had a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron.

"Thank you for launching the Artillery Coalition initiative and for France's commitment to produce dozens of advanced Caesar artillery systems and ammunition for Ukraine in 2024," the press service quoted the president as saying.

It is noted that the parties discussed in detail the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine's defence needs, including the priorities for inclusion in the next military aid package from France. The president noted that it is important to further strengthen Ukraine's air defence system.

"I am grateful for the active assistance of French businesses that are investing and are ready to increase investments in Ukraine despite the war," the president said in a telephone conversation.

He spoke about the start of preparations for the Global Peace Summit and stressed that it was important to involve as many countries as possible in its participation.

The presidents also instructed political and military advisers to start preparing for the upcoming visit of the French president to Ukraine and to accelerate negotiations on a bilateral agreement on security guarantees within the framework of the G7 Vilnius Declaration.
