Ukrainian hackers steal technical documentation about 500 Russian Defence Ministry facilities

Hackers from the Blackjack group, who are likely to be associated with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), have hacked into a Russian state-owned enterprise that builds military facilities throughout Russia.

Ukrainian cyber warriors downloaded over 1.2 TB of data from the Main Military Construction Directorate for Special Facilities, which includes more than 500 passports of military facilities of the Russian Ministry of Defence, LB.ua by law enforcement sources.

This includes data on weapons arsenals, sites of anti-aircraft missile systems, headquarters, barracks, including those located in the enemy-held territories of Ukraine, and other technical and design documentation.

In addition, the hackers also took down seven servers and encrypted more than 150 computers of the institution's employees.

According to sources, Russian special builders were effectively left without the entire data set and backup copies.
