The head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, said he had a telephone conversation with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.

"We discussed preparations for a meeting to be held in Uzhhorod on 29 January. Ukraine will be represented at the meeting by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. We are committed to an open dialogue to discuss bilateral relations between our countries," Yermak said.

He also thanked Péter Szijjártó for Hungary's participation in the meeting of national security and foreign policy advisers on the implementation of the Peace Formula held in Davos.

The meeting in Uzhhorod will discuss, among other things, the organisation of a meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban. Orban has previously agreed to meet Zelenskyy.

Meanwhile, the European Parliament has supported the call to deprive Hungary of its voting rights in the bloc. A total of 345 deputies voted in favour, but the resolution is not binding. Politico reported that the pressure on Orban is increasing, he is ready to conclude a deal on 50 billion euros for Ukraine. Diplomats and officials are optimistic about the talks between the European Commission and Budapest. At the same time, talks with Hungary will continue until the next EU leaders' summit on 1 February.
