This morning, a fire broke out at the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery in Volgograd, Russia, as a result of a drone attack. The fire has been extinguished, the ASTRA Telegram channel has reported.

The attacked refinery, Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka, is the largest producer of petroleum products in the Southern Federal District.

At the peak of the fire, it covered the area 300 sq m. Despite this, the governor of Volgograd region, Andrei Bocharov, reported that the drone attack was allegedly repelled.

A video of the fire was also posted online.

The Russian Ministry of Defence said that two UAVs had allegedly been intercepted over Volgograd Region, four more over Belgorod Region and one over Rostov Region. No-one was injured in the attack.
