The Prosecutor General’s Office reported that on 8 February 2024, unidentified persons shot a car with unidentified firearms on a street in Nikopol. The deputy mayor was in the car.
The man died on the spot as a result of the shooting.
Urgent investigative actions are ongoing to identify the persons involved in the crime.
For its part, the National Police reported that all police services are working at the site of the murder of the deputy head of the Nikopol City Council.On 8 February, at around 9 a.m., the police received a report that an unknown person had shot a car belonging to the deputy head of the Nikopol council.
At the site, the police found that the attacker had used an unidentified weapon, causing the car to catch fire. After the fire was extinguished, the body of a 59-year-old man was found inside.
