Seven people were killed and three injured as a result of the Russian attack on Kharkiv at night. Fifteen houses burnt down. The bodies of an entire family – three children and two adults – were found in one of such houses, and two more dead adults in another burnt house, regional investigation chief Serhiy Bolvinov has said.
"Investigators have established that after the shelling, there was a fuel leak, which mixed with snow and spread down the street. The fire broke out in 15 houses. The family was trapped inside their own house. The body of a man was found in the corridor of the house, while a mother and her children tried to escape in the bathroom. We don't know where the body of the baby is yet. We are searching for it," the law enforcement officer said.
According to the State Emergency Service, a 66-year-old man and his 65-year-old wife died in another house. Two women, aged 61 and 39, and a 45-year-old man were injured. More than 50 people were rescued last night during the fires in Kharkiv.
