Ukraine and Greece have started preparing a long-term bilateral agreement on security guarantees. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said at a joint press conference with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

"I hope that our teams will soon prepare the agreement for signing. We have to record in it the achieved level of cooperation and support for this year, as well as for the next 10 years - it is long-term security cooperation that gives the best results," he said.

Also in 2024, according to the president, it is planned to strengthen sanctions against Russia and reduce Putin's ability to finance the war.

"We have to work as hard as possible to reduce Russia's ability to finance its aggression. The less money Putin has, the fewer people he can kill. He wants no peace, no diplomacy. That is why we need to continue to strengthen sanctions against Russia and punish Russian murderers for everything they have done. It is important to help our defence. It is important to limit the economic potential of Russian terrorists. It is important to support the work of the International Criminal Court and counter Russian disinformation," Zelenskyy added.
