Due to the surplus of electricity, Ukrainian NPPs have been switched to a new operating mode and are being prepared for repair, Energoatom said.
The surplus of electricity has been recorded for two weeks in a row, so the company's management is switching the generating units of nuclear power plants to lower capacities and preparing them for scheduled repairs, the company said.
The repair campaign in the nuclear industry was scheduled to start on 13 March.
"The current situation allows us to start it five days earlier, from 8 March. This will allow us to prepare nuclear power units for the 2024/25 autumn/winter period, optimise repair and maintenance schedules, including fuel reloading," the company said in a statement.
