Today, 8 March, European Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis arrived in Ukraine. He announced this on X.
"It is a great honour to return to Ukraine, which is courageously fighting back against Russia's brutal and illegal aggression, and to reiterate the EU's firm support. Ukraine, its people, have already made their clear choice, no matter what the Kremlin has in mind. Their future is in Europe," Dombrovskis wrote.
For her part, EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarina Mathernova met Dombrovskis in the Ukrainian capital.
"Great to welcome Valdis Dombrovskis back to Kyiv on this special day. Happy International Women's Day! Symbolically under my favourite statue of St Olha wearing a bulletproof vest," Mathernova wrote on X.
