The construction of defence lines is proceeding at an accelerated pace, with new forces and technical capabilities being deployed. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence following a working visit along the frontline by Deputy Minister of Defence Ivan Havrylyuk.

"During the working visit, I travelled several hundred kilometres along the frontline to see first-hand the pace of work on the fortification of the defence borders. It is true that engineering work on the construction of defence lines has been accelerated recently. The weather has been favourable for several weeks now. New forces and technical capabilities have been deployed. The government has allocated the necessary funds," said Ivan Havrylyuk.

He said that a plan for the fortification of defensive lines has been drawn up and approved, which defines the scope of work, deadlines and those responsible for each section.

"The defence lines are being equipped by both the military, including units of the Support Forces Command and the State Special Transport Service, and civilian worker brigades. I would like to emphasise that virtually all regional military administrations are involved in the construction of the defence line," said the Deputy Minister.

According to Havrylyuk, the construction of fortifications is going on continuously under favourable conditions. However, the biggest problem is enemy drones.

"If the security situation and weather permit, work on the fortification of the defensive borders is uninterrupted. Currently, the biggest problem with the construction of defence lines is enemy drones. They often impede the deployment of the necessary construction equipment, threaten the lives of our soldiers, military engineers and civilian crews and slow down the pace of work," said Ivan Havrylyuk.
