While in Turkey, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the shipyard where Ada-class corvettes are being built for the Ukrainian Navy and announced that the ship will be named after Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyy.
The relevant decree was published on the presidential website.
"In order to restore the historical traditions of the national army, to perpetuate the memory of the outstanding Ukrainian military, political and statesman Hetman of the Zaporizhzhya Army Ivan Vyhovskyy, I hereby decree to name the Ada class corvette of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine after Hetman Ivan Vyhovskyy and to further name this corvette Hetman Ivan Vyhovskty," the document reads.
Later, Zelenskyy is expected to meet President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. In particular, Turkish media report that it is planned to discuss in detail the situation regarding the extension of the Grain Corridor Agreement and the issue of "finding long-term peace in the region." The meeting of the leaders is scheduled for 19:00.
