On the night of 8 March, the Russian army attacked southern and eastern Ukraine using one S-300 anti-aircraft guided missile, two X-59 guided missiles and 37 Shahed attack drones. According to the Air Force, the drones were launched from Balaklava in Crimea.
As a result of combat operations, Ukraine's air defence shot down 33 Shaheds in Kirovohrad, Odesa, Kherson, Mykolayiv and Kharkiv Regions.
"Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, mobile fire groups and the Ukrainian Defence Forces, as well as electronic warfare equipment were involved in repelling the air attack," the Air Force said in a statement.
In the city of Chuhuyiv in Kharkiv Region, six people were injured as a result of the occupiers' attack. Among them are two children: born in 2006 and 2021.
