Ukraine has completed the nationalisation of Mykolayiv Alumina Plant LLC, which was previously owned by Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska. This was announced by Vitaliy Koval, Head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

"One more sanctioned property. The State Property Fund has been actively working to lift all arrests, bans and restrictions, and from today, we are managing the Mykolayiv Alumina Plant owned by Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska," Koval said.

He noted that the plant was one of Europe's largest non-ferrous metallurgy plants, but had been out of operation since 2022.

The plant is now fully nationalised and the State Property Fund is its sole shareholder.

"Each such successful case is a clear confirmation of the determination and work of the SPFU team to bring victory closer and support the country's defence capability," Koval said.

The head of the Fund also added that this is a motivation to speed up the confiscation and sale of Russian property abroad.

"Every hryvnya from these assets will be used to rebuild Ukraine. And this is fair," he concluded.
