Ukraine has received $880 million from the International Monetary Fund today. This is the third tranche under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme.

The funds, which amount to about UAH 3.432 billion will help cover priority budget expenditures and maintain macro-financial stability. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

"Ukraine continues to successfully fulfil its obligations to its partners. We are already preparing for the next review of the programme. We are grateful to the IMF for its support and cooperation," he said.

  • The Extended Fund Facility (EFF) is a four-year programme under which Kyiv receives budget support and implements economic and anti-corruption reforms. This programme was first launched in 2015. It was then renewed in 2023, and this is the first time the IMF has lent to a country at war.
