The Security Service of Ukraine detained a married couple who worked for the FSB and prepared coordinates for a new Russian missile strike on the units of the Defence Forces in Kharkiv and Sumy Regions.
This was reported by the SBU.
Among the main targets of the enemy were the headquarters and fortifications of the Armed Forces and the State Border Guard Service. The aggressor was also interested in the geolocation of logistics bases and warehouses with weapons and ammunition of Ukrainian troops.
To obtain intelligence, the FSB engaged its agent from Sumy Region, who worked in Kharkiv as a nurse at a local medical facility. The woman asked her colleagues about the locations of the Defence Forces in Kharkiv Region.
The man would send the information he received via messenger to his wife, who would then report to his Moscow supervisor. The SBU has already identified him.
During the search of the detainees' residences, SBU officers seized mobile phones and SIM cards of different operators with evidence of criminal actions.
SBU investigators have served the Russian agent a notice of suspicion under Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
The criminal actions of her husband are classified under Part 2 Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorised dissemination of information on the sending, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law).
The offenders are in custody. They face from 8 years to life imprisonment.
Since the beginning of the invasion, the State Bureau of Investigation has opened nearly 3,000 cases of crimes against national security. Most of them, over 1500 cases, were opened on the fact of high treason.
