The Verkhovna Rada has adopted a resolution to cancel the change of time in Ukraine from winter to summer.
The resolution was voted in favour by 261 MPs, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak said. According to him, this year Ukraine will have to switch to winter time and continue to stay on it.
"That is, this year, on the last Sunday (27 October), we will switch the clocks to winter time and then there will be no daylight saving time from 2025 onwards," he said.
This is not the first time that the topic of cancelling time change has been raised in parliament, and it has been about both summer and winter time.
A few days ago, a parliamentary committee recommended that Ukraine abolish daylight saving time, but it was a draft law. Among the arguments in favour of the cancellation were the impact on human health and "helping to counteract Russian aggression and promote Ukraine's European integration aspirations".
And in 2021, there were attempts to cancel daylight saving time.
