On 26 July, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico spoke again with his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Shmyhal, TASR reports.
The heads of government discussed the transit of Russian oil through Ukraine. Fico offered Shmyhal a technical solution that would involve several countries, including Slovakia.
According to the Slovak government's press service, intensive talks at the ‘highest political and professional level’ will take place in the coming hours and days.
The Slovak side insists that the resumption of transit of some Russian oil is extremely important for the Slovneft refinery. Alternative sources of oil are more expensive and may be technologically unsuitable.
