Around 23:00 on 5 August, Russians launched a missile attack in the direction of Kyiv and the suburbs.
This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv CMA.
"According to preliminary information, the aggressor used ballistic weapons such as Iskander-M or KN-23," the statement said.
Air defence forces and assets were deployed in Kyiv and the surrounding area. According to preliminary data, enemy missiles were hit, the exact modification of the weapon and the number of missiles will be made public by the Air Force.
The Kyiv CMA stressed that as of 23:49, no damage had been recorded in Kyiv, and no information on casualties had been received.
- During the massive shelling of Ukraine on 31 July, Russia used a KN-23 ballistic missile from the DPRK to target the city of Bila Tserkva. However, the missile simply fell on the territory of Kyiv Region, probably after an explosion in the air.
