Reports of border breach in Kursk Region, in Russia

The head of the Centre for Countering Disinformation, Kovalenko, said that Russians are lying about controlling the border.

Today, 6 August, Russia spread information about a border breach in the Kursk Region. The governor claimed that the attempted breakthrough was allegedly unsuccessful. However, the head of Ukraine's Centre for Countering Disinformation, Andriy Kovalenko, said that Russia's claims of controlling the border in that region were fake.

On his channel, Kovalenko said that "Russian military commanders are lying about the control of the situation in the Kursk Region. Russia does not control the border". There have been no other comments from Ukraine on the situation in the Kursk Region.

In their statements, the Russians claim that their FSB repelled the attempted breakthrough. But their military bloggers wrote that the fighting continued at least a few hours ago.

The Russian-language bureau of Radio Liberty reported that, according to pro-war channels, the Ukrainian Sabotage and reconnaissance group had crossed the border into the Kursk Region.
