The European Parliament has adopted a resolution demanding that EU countries lift current restrictions that prevent Ukraine from using Western weapons against legitimate military targets in Russia. 425 deputies voted in favour, 131 voted against, and 63 abstained.

This was reported by Radio Svoboda.

The resolution states that without lifting the current restrictions, Ukraine cannot fully exercise its right to self-defence and remains vulnerable to Russian attacks on its population and infrastructure.

MEPs stress that insufficient supplies of ammunition and restrictions on its use could negate the impact of the efforts made, and regret the reduction in bilateral military assistance to Ukraine from the EU.

MEPs reiterate their call on EU countries to fulfil their commitment to supply one million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine and to accelerate the delivery of weapons, air defence systems and ammunition, including TAURUS missiles.

They also reiterate their position that all EU and NATO Allies should collectively and individually commit to annual military support for Ukraine of at least 0.25% of their GDP.
