Russian occupants launch 2023 attack drones in Ukraine in October

Since the beginning of 2024, Russia has launched 6,987 attack UAVs into Ukraine.

In October of this year, the Russian occupiers used 2023 Shahed-type attack UAVs and unidentified drones against civilian and military targets in Ukraine.

According to the General Staff, 1185 of these drones were destroyed and neutralised by Ukrainian defenders, 738 were lost locally, and another 29 UAVs left the controlled airspace of our country.

In total, since the beginning of 2024, the enemy has launched 6,987 attack UAVs at the territory of Ukraine. Mostly, enemy drones targeted civilian and critical infrastructure of Ukraine.

‘Thanks to the professionalism and skill of the servicemen of the Defence Forces, thousands of lives of our people were saved from Russian air terror, hundreds of homes of Ukrainian citizens and important state facilities were saved from destruction,’ the General Staff stressed and added that anti-aircraft missile troops, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups continue to protect the Ukrainian sky around the clock.
