The United Kingdom has announced tougher sanctions against Iran in response to the supply of ballistic missiles to Russia.

In particular, the new sanctions include freezing the assets of Iranian airline Iran Air and shipping company Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) for their role in supporting Iran's defence sector and transporting weapons to Russia for further use on the battlefield in Ukraine.
In addition, sanctions were imposed against the state-owned national shipping company Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) and the Russian cargo ship PORT OLYA-3.
