On the night of 27 November, Russia launched 89 Shahed attack drones and unidentified drones from Orel, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia), according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
By 09:00, air defence units had downed 36 Russian drones across Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyy, and Mykolayiv Regions. Aviation, anti-aircraft missile systems, electronic warfare equipment, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defence Forces participated in repelling the attack.
Additionally, 48 drones were neutralised locally, likely by Defence Forces’ electronic warfare units, while five drones exited controlled airspace towards Belarus, Russia, or temporarily occupied territories.
In Kyiv Region, falling debris damaged private houses, apartment buildings, and other property, though no casualties or injuries have been reported.
- Over the past week, Ukrainian air defence units have destroyed 178 Russian drones. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 19,616 Russian drones have been eliminated, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
