South Korean media reports that a Ukrainian delegation will visit Seoul this week to urge the South Korean government to provide military aid to Ukraine.
According to Reuters, the delegation, headed by Defence Minister Rustem Umerov, is scheduled to meet with South Korean counterparts on Wednesday. Some reports suggest that discussions have already taken place with Shin Won-sik, the National Security Advisor of South Korea.
While South Korea possesses a highly developed military-industrial complex, it has so far refrained from supplying Ukraine with lethal weapons, providing only demining equipment and other auxiliary support.
However, with North Korea’s growing involvement in the war in Ukraine, South Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has indicated that it is not ruling out the possibility of expanding its support.
