Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has praised the Armed Forces of Ukraine for their overnight strikes on Russian military and fuel-energy facilities. In a social media post, he emphasised that such long-range capabilities are instrumental in forcing Russia to confront the reality that the war must end.
“I thank our soldiers who struck significant blows at Russian targets last night. Military facilities and energy infrastructure supporting aggression against Ukraine were hit,” Zelenskyy stated.
He underlined that Ukraine’s precision and range in striking Russian targets are critical steps toward achieving peace: “This is exactly the kind of range and accuracy that, step by step, brings Russia back to reality that the war must be ended.”
Chief Commander Syrskyy provided Zelenskyy with updates on key fronts, noting that:
- Donetsk Region: Fighting remains intense, particularly in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions. November and December have seen record Russian losses due to heavy assaults.
- Kursk operation: Ukrainian forces continue to degrade Russian military potential, which remains a top priority.
Zelenskyy’s focus remains on leveraging military and diplomatic efforts to force Russia into meaningful negotiations on Ukraine’s terms.
