On 27 January, Russia carried out a large-scale drone attack on Ivano-Frankivsk Region, targeting critical infrastructure, according to mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv and regional military administration head Svitlana Onyshchuk.
Martsinkiv stated that air defence successfully prevented damage to civilian property in the community. Onyshchuk confirmed multiple drone strikes during the night, aimed at critical information infrastructure.
Suspilne correspondents reported at least seven explosions in the region. Fires broke out at two locations within an infrastructure facility in Ivano-Frankivsk district. Rescuers extinguished a 100-square-metre fire, while efforts continue to contain a 500-square-metre blaze.
The State Emergency Service (SES) reported no casualties. A total of 58 rescuers and 25 units of equipment are involved in the response. Relevant services remain on-site to manage the aftermath.
