The Czech initiative to purchase ammunition for Ukraine has sufficient resources for monthly supplies until September 2025.
This was stated by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky at the NATO Foreign Ministers' Summit in Brussels, reports Yevropeyska Pravda.
‘First of all, with regard to the Czech initiative, it is important that we were able to secure funding, and now this initiative has enough resources to provide Ukraine with ammunition every month until September,’ Lipavsky said.
According to the minister, this was made possible by contributions from Canada, Norway, the Netherlands and Denmark.
Lipavsky also noted that in 2024, the Czech Republic supplied Ukraine with 1.5 million rounds of ammunition, including 500,000 large-calibre 155 mm and 152 mm shells.
‘We have to deliver this material to Ukraine so that it can defend itself against Putin's imperial war of aggression,’ Lipavsky said.
- Last month, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala assured that this year's Czech ammunition initiative could deliver at least as many rounds in 2025 as were provided last year.
