More than 40 per cent of all weapons used at the front are made in Ukraine.
This was stated by Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the awarding ceremony for employees of our defence industry.
‘The trend is unchanged: Ukraine will do more and more to ensure its security - on its own and together with partners. I thank all the employees of our defence industries for your work,’ the Head of State said.
The President noted that the Ukrainian defence industry produces more than a thousand types of weapons: from artillery shells to missiles and long-range weapons.
‘Ukraine will always need its own strong weapons to have its own strong Ukrainian state. Ukraine will always need its own technological superiority so that Russia knows that we will respond to every strike,’ Zelenskyy concluded.
- This month, the Ministry of Defence authorised the use of the 40 mm AGL-53 automatic grenade launcher in the Armed Forces. Ukraine's defence industry is currently ramping up production of 60mm, 82mm, 120mm mortars, 5.56mm assault rifles, sniper and anti-material rifles, pistols and submachine guns.
