The European Museum Forum (EMF) has announced the nominees for one of the most prestigious awards in the museum sector - EMYA 2025. This year's list includes 42 museums from different European countries, including one Ukrainian museum, The Korsaks' Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art. This is stated in a post on the museum's official Facebook page. Each team presents its museum, areas of activity, and exhibition projects. The forum primarily unites the community that works with museums as sustainable multidisciplinary spaces. 'After the presentation, I couldn't call Viktor Korsak and say that everything was okay, because we were not allowed to leave, we were constantly approached by representatives of museums from different countries (France, Austria, Norway, Lithuania, Poland, Bosnia, Spain...),' wrote the museum's director Tetyana Repnytska in her Facebook post.
EMYA works within the general framework of the Council of Europe's values, adhering to the commitment to promote citizenship, democracy, human rights and sustainable development, as well as to build links between cultures and overcome social and political boundaries.
The different awards within the EMYA programme reflect, represent and emphasise different aspects and dimensions of these values.
The two main awards - the EMYA and the Council of Europe Museum Prize - have been awarded continuously since 1977. The EMYA awards programme responds to both long-term societal changes and immediate social challenges, reflecting the challenges, responsibilities and opportunities faced by museums in the 21st century.

The winner will be announced on 24 May 2025.
The Korsaks' Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art was founded in 2018 in Lutsk and is the largest museum of contemporary national art in Ukraine. It contains paintings, graphics, sculptures, video materials, and installations from the mid-20th century to the present day. The museum is privately owned.
The mission of the Korsaks’ Museum of Contemporary Ukrainian Art is stated as follows: ‘We are building a museum institution of the highest level that changes the past, reflects on the present and creates the future, which will contribute to the development of the nation's spirituality and promote Ukrainian art in the world.’
