During a meeting in Brussels, NATO defence ministers agreed to provide Ukraine with additional military aid worth over €20 billion.

This was announced by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, according to Suspilne.

‘This year, Alliance members have already pledged to provide Ukraine with more than €20 billion in additional security assistance. This support is key to strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities in the face of Russian aggression,’ Rutte said.

The meeting also discussed NATO's new investment plan to respond to growing global threats. According to the Secretary General, allies must increase defence spending to 3.5% of GDP for basic needs and 1.5% of GDP for investments in infrastructure, defence and industry.

Rutte noted the support that NATO member states confirmed the day before during a meeting of the Contact Group on Defence Issues of Ukraine.

  • The day before, Ukrainian Defence Minister Rustem Umerov announced the results of the 28th meeting of the Contact Group on Defence Issues of our state in the Ramstein format, at which partners announced new aid packages and important support measures. The minister listed the specific amounts of aid from each partner.
