On her way back from the World Poetry Slam Championships in Ciudad Juárez, Chivas, Olena Herasymiuk – a Ukrainian writer, veteran, and paramedic with the Hospitallers Volunteer Medical Battalion – visited the Embassy of Ukraine in Mexico.
The embassy shared this news on its official Facebook page.
Olena is the winner of the European stage and ranks among the top 20 slam poets in the world.
At the Championship, she presented four pieces – two of which addressed the war in Ukraine, including the widely recognised work In Memory of Mariupol, in which the author pays tribute to her readers who were killed during the Russian invasion.
