On 31 May, during a concert of the DakhaBrakha band in Kyiv, Ambassador of France to Ukraine Gael Veyer awarded soloists Mark Halanevych, Nina Harenetska, Iryna Kovalenko and Olena Tsybulska with Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, the highest cultural award, for their outstanding contribution to Ukrainian art in Ukraine and the world, especially in France.

This was reported by the French Embassy in Ukraine on its Facebook page.

The ambassador noted the band's role in preserving and promoting Ukrainian identity, as well as its specific contribution to the Ukrainian resistance: all funds raised during the concert will be donated to support the army. During the concert, which began with a minute of silence, the musicians performed several songs dedicated to the Ukrainian military and drew attention to the deportation of Ukrainian children by Russia.
