Today, 20 June, Ukraine brought home another group of seriously ill and wounded defenders. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners.

All of the released military personnel are soldiers or sergeants. Some of them were captured in the Donetsk Region, particularly in Mariupol, as well as in the Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya, Kherson, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv Regions.

These are defenders from the Armed Forces, the National Guard, and the Border Guard Service.

‘All of the defenders released today have injuries or serious medical conditions: epilepsy, hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, vision problems, musculoskeletal disorders, hernias, and chronic digestive diseases. Many of those released have been diagnosed with weight loss,’ the Headquarters reported.

The President specified that most of the soldiers returned today had been in captivity for over two years.
