Leading British universities host Ukrainian Week — a series of events dedicated to modern Ukraine, its historical memory, culture, science, and international cooperation. The initiative aims to bring together Ukrainian and British scholars, artists, and researchers to show how culture, education, and innovation strengthen Ukraine’s statehood during wartime, the Ukrainian Institute reports.
The first day of the programme focuses on historical memory and statehood. Participants discuss the role of memory in shaping modern Ukrainian identity, as well as Crimea as a space of struggle for rights and freedom. Several events are devoted to contemporary Ukrainian culture, featuring discussions on literature, translation, and the role of artists in communicating Ukraine’s message to the world.
Throughout the week, roundtables and networking sessions between Ukrainian and British universities are held to foster strategic partnerships in education, science, and technology.
Ukrainian Week in the United Kingdom runs from 3 to 14 November. The initiative is implemented in partnership with Cormack Consultancy Group, Twinning Ukraine, the President of Ukraine’s Foundation for Education, Science and Sports Support, the Ukrainian Institute, the Office of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and the Crimea Platform, with support from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
