To mark the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion, the feature film “Bucha”, directed by Stanislav Tiunov and based on real events, is becoming available to millions of viewers in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The film is being released on major international streaming platforms, including Apple TV, Amazon, Google Play, and Fandango.
The film, which first premiered in Ukraine with the support of B&H Film Distribution, depicts the events of the darkest days of March 2022 in Kyiv Region. At the centre of the story is Kostiantyn Hudauskas, a citizen of Kazakhstan who found himself in the region as Russian troops entered during the full-scale invasion. He had the opportunity to leave and save himself. Instead, he stayed — and helped evacuate more than 200 civilians who were trapped under occupation and effectively held hostage in their own homes. The screenplay was written by Oleksandr Shchur.
Following its Ukrainian premiere, “Bucha” gradually entered international markets, reaching audiences in Portugal, France, Germany, Japan, Poland, and dozens of other countries.
