President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told journalists that Russian claims of having fully seized the Luhansk Region are not true.
“No, that is not true. They keep pushing this narrative everywhere — that they are taking our territories — but even partners who constantly said that Russia was supposedly winning have already stopped repeating that narrative and understand that Russia will not win this war,” Zelenskyy said.
The president noted that the contact line is complicated.
“Our guys are withstanding a large number of serious strikes — hundreds of offensive actions in a single day. But taking into account the occupied and de-occupied territory, since the beginning of this year, the balance is not in Russia’s favor — it is in Ukraine’s favor. Ukraine has restored its position on more square kilometers of its land than it has lost,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that over the past 10 months, Ukraine has been in its most stable shape.
“Also, by the way, Russia is making claims about offensives from its own territory and into the Sumy region — that they may want this and may even be preparing it — but it is not happening; they do not have sufficient forces. They are losing today — this is already statistics, it is already a constant — every month since the beginning of this year, 30,000–35,000 a month,” Zelenskyy said.
