Russian authorities in Crimea seize homes they previously allowed to be built

In occupied Crimea, Russian authorities are mass confiscating land and homes from people who had legally registered their plots through “Rosreestr”.

This was reported by the Center of National Resistance of Ukraine.

In the village of Uyutne in Saky district, homes belonging to at least 80 families are now under threat of demolition.

According to the Centre, residents followed the official procedure established by the Russian authorities themselves. Under a decree by Sergey Aksyonov, they initially leased land from the local administration and, after building homes, were entitled to purchase the plots under a simplified scheme.

Now, prosecutors claim the land was allocated in violation of Law No. 66-ZRK, without proper auctions and to ineligible categories of citizens. The former head of the Uyutne administration, who personally authorised the distribution of these plots, received only a symbolic fine of 200,000 roubles.

Courts that had initially upheld the owners’ rights later sent the cases back for reconsideration following cassation appeals.

“In this way, the occupying authorities are revoking even the rights they themselves granted, leaving people without housing and without compensation,” the Centre said.
