During the night, Russian forces launched drones towards Sumy, and a series of explosions was heard across the city.

According to Mayor Artem Kobzar, at least five strikes were recorded in the Zarichny district. Cars are burning in residential areas, and windows have been shattered in high-rise buildings. One of the strikes hit a medical facility, damaging the roof.

According to the head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleg Grigorov, the number of casualties has risen to 15.

“Among the injured are three children: girls aged 13, 15 and 17. They have been hospitalised, and medics are providing the necessary care. Most of those affected by the night-time attack by Russian drones are elderly people. Everyone is receiving the necessary medical care,” he said.

The day before, the Defence Forces denied the risk of Sumy being partially encircled by Russian forces.
