President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Zaporizhzhya Region on 26 August. He recorded his traditional address against the backdrop of the stele at the entrance to Zaporizhzhya.
The President noted that Ukraine would continue active defence. Together with Commander-in-Chief Mykhaylo Drapatyy and the General Staff, they determined the sequence of further steps.
“First, our positions in Donetsk Region will be strengthened thanks to two updated formations. The commanders will be Hero of Ukraine Denys Prokopenko and Hero of Ukraine Andriy Biletskyy,” the President said.
Second, he held talks with commanders on the Zaporizhzhya axis. The President announced an increase in the necessary capabilities, including ground robotic systems. Decisions will be taken on more systematic approaches to mid-range strikes. The President said there would also be corresponding personnel decisions.
As part of the trip, a meeting was held on the security situation in Zaporizhzhya and the Region.
“Our work with the American side continues. We are in touch with them,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, adding that they are doing everything in detail to bring peace closer.
