Norway’s Agency for Digitalisation (Didgir) has been fending off a hacking attack for three consecutive days. The Russian group Server Killers has claimed responsibility for the cyberattack, NRK reports, citing TV 2.
The hackers have declared a “cyberwar” on Norway. They claim the attack was triggered by a co-operation agreement in the field of defence and security, signed by Norway and Ukraine on Sunday.
Attacks in previous days have already affected the operation of digital services. As of 26 August, most services have been restored.
“The situation is as follows: the attack is still ongoing, but we have taken measures that mean our services remain available almost continuously. However, from time to time there may be certain disruptions to stability,” Digdir Director Frode Danielsen told broadcaster NRK.
